We’re posting this Mauricio Chavez scam warning today after seeing the following Better Business Bureau (BBB) report from a person who lost $15,750 to an online scam. He reported on December 21, 2022:
They presented testimonies of people that had been in that program for over a year. They presented a PowerPoint with all the information about the program, which they later took the access away from.
The program was an “investment” program for bitcoin and NFTS. They would “teach” us how to invest it, supposedly. When we gave the money in cash to the people in the office, they gave us the paperwork I attached below and later gave me other contracts showing my signature even though I didn’t sign them and absolving them of any liability.
I also have the names of those people, they are Ismael Sánchez which was the “leader” and Mauricio Chavez the “CEO” Also, what haves me worried is that they made us send them our ID through cryptofxtv.com in order to receive our money and “prove” it was us in fact and not someone else.
The reported email address is: soporte@cryptofxtv.com, while the reported telephone number is (832) 888-6924.
The reported domain is: CRYPTOFXLA.COM.
We have decided to write this review even though the details are vague because of the very large amount of money stolen, according to this review.

This translates to “Sorry, we are doing work on the site. Thank you for your patience. We are working on the site and will be back soon.”
Only two pages are indexed on Google at the moment:
- A terms and conditions PDF (cryptofxtv.com/mioficina/assets/terminosycondiciones.pdf)
- And the default WordPress post “Hello, World!” posted on April 28, 2020. (Apparently, the date when this WordPress was installed on the domain.)
This domain was regsitered on April 25, 2017 for 6 years through GoDaddy, and it was updated on October 2, 2022. Privacy services are provided via Domains By Proxy, LLC.
The website was ranked 1,994,780 on SimilarWeb in December 2022 with a US rank of 400,377. It received 18.9K visits, which indicates it is rather popular. In November it was even more popular with 27.6K visits (but in October it had 0).
Their Semrush authority score is 7/100 and they seem to be receiving most of their traffic from the US. They have 5 backlinks and are ranked for keywords such as “cryptofxtv,” cryptofx tv,” “cryptofx academy,” and “cryptofx network.”
Their only interesting backlinks are from trustedrevie.ws, a review aggregator, however they have neither a ranking or any reviews on that page.

This domain is no longer a working domain. It is parked. Its homepage however is still indexed in Google.
The domain was registered on June 12, 2020 for 3 years via GoDaddy. The domain was updated on October 21, 2022.
The identity of the owners of the domain is hidden with a privacy service provided by Domains By Proxy, LLC.
There is no popularity score for cryptofxla.com, and on Semrush it receives an authority score of 1% with just 2 backlinks.
Both backlinks are from criptoonline.com/cfx-academy-llc/.
So what is this review about?
It seems likely that both of these domains belong to the same people. They may have been a Forex trading platform or a cryptocurreny investment wesbsite, which ran a heavy campaign targeting American investors, fleecing them of their hard earned funds.
After making a fortune in October and November 2022, they have deleted all trace of their activity and ran away with the money.
According to the review on CriptoOnline.com, however, we learn some more interesting details about this scam.
The review claims that CFX Academy LLC, led by Mauricio Chavez, is potentially a fraud or Ponzi scheme.
The review states that there is little information confirming Chavez’s experience in managing people’s financial resources, and that the company does not have a website or virtual office to manage funds and growth of the group.
The review also states that the company’s contract makes it clear that they are not an investment instrument, and that the company does not have permits to raise money and invest it, which can make the promoter co-responsible fiscally and criminally if something goes wrong.
Moreover, the company was only incorporated as a company in December 2020, despite claiming to have been operating since 2017, and that the company’s legal constitution offers protection for the manager but not for the investors.
Other points mentioned in this review include:
- the company only provides motivational speeches and testimonials to recruit new members.
- the company’s founder, Mauricio Chavez, has a history of promoting other business such as coffee and technology, but there is no evidence that he has experience in the financial and business world.
- the company’s contract protects the company but not the investors.
- the company was incorporated twice in different address, which may indicate the original investors lost their money.
The review also mentions two other domains owned by the same person: cfxlifestyle.io & mauriciochavez.com, which are no longer active.

In short, due to myriad websites and names mentioned in this warning and in the scam report we opened with, we have decided to title this review Mauricio Chavez – Scam Alert since he may be the brain behind this scam.
