Yesterday, February 23, 2023, we received the following complaint:
5704.2 Euros, equivalent to 8200 Canadian dollars, were deposited into CED Capital Limited. The representative promised good returns on investments in Brent oil deals and currency pairs. However, after a few days, the representative claimed that the capital was not enough and urged the complainer to take out a loan.
When the complainer questioned the representative, they were pushed to record confirmation and pressured to act quickly. The complainer demanded their money back, but was told there was a hold on their funds due to a pending loan.
So is CED Capital Limited indeed a SCAM or is it a legitimate website?
A quick Google search reveals no website by the name “CED Capital.”
On the UK Companies House website, we find a company by the name “CED CAPITAL LIMITED” (Company number 07752658), which is an an active private limited company from 47/48 Piccadilly, London, United Kingdom, W1J 0DT incorporated on 25 August 2011 as a financial intermediation company Cedric Nicholas Middleton of Flat 7, 212 Old Brompton Road, London, United Kingdom, SW5 0BX.
CED CAPITAL LIMITED has an unclaimed page on LinkedIn, but no website is specified, however the fact that Mr. Middleton, CED Capital LTD’s director has been working there since September 2006 and the company itself was registered on 2011, 12 years ago, we believe that this is not the same CED Capital from the complaint we opened with.
Scams are usually not so long standing.

Finally, we find a suspicious website – ced-cl.com – however, this website has only a login page and a reset password page.
Unfortunately, we are unable to access this website, however we can always Google it!
First, we look at some meta information. The domain ced-cl.com was registered on January 3, 2022 for 2 years through OwnRegistrar, Inc. by FRANCOISE BERNELIERE from 27 RUE DE BESNE, PRINQUIAU, France 44260.
According to Google Maps, the address 27 Rue de Besné, 44260 Prinquiau, France appears to be residential.
Phone number: +33.696332566. This phone number appears to be invalid.

Ced-cl.com is hosted by Unified Layer and is yet to accrue any popularity data, authority, or backlinks.
On Google, not many results come up. The only helpful mention is from a French blog, ADC France, which is warning against the websites ced-cl.com and gestion-ced-cl.com. These sites offer to carry out trading operations with a guaranteed return of 5% per month.
The domain gestion-ced-cl.com was registered on January 6, 2022 for 2 years through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu
Both sites used the following French phone numbers:

- +33 07 56 81 77 71
- +33 07 56 80 89 89
- +33 07 56 98 68 09
- +44 74 88 86 78 86 (a UK number)
The phone numbers you listed appear to be valid French mobile phone numbers. French mobile phone numbers are 10 digits long and typically start with either “06” or “07”. These numbers all start with “07”, which is the prefix for mobile phones in France.
Also provided are the following fake names:
- Mme Vanessa LUZET
- M. Franck MALLET
- M. Anthony PELLEGRINI
Overall, it appears that these sites are likely part of a larger effort to defraud investors. Individuals should be cautious when considering investment opportunities that offer unusually high rates of return, particularly when the investment is being offered by an unfamiliar or unknown company.
