On November 30, 2023, one of our partners received the following complaint from a person who reported being scammed for $10K:

I am investing with centurysecurities.xyz, which is presented as an international trading market. They informed me that their programmers would assist in trading to generate profits. The programmers frequently advised to buy, and only at the last moment did they suggest selling. Unfortunately, following this advice led to a loss of all invested money. Could you please provide a review of this site?

So, is centurysecurities.xyz really a SCAM?

  1. Over-Promising Returns: Promising high profits with little to no risk is a classic sign of a scam. Legitimate investments always carry some level of risk.
  2. Pushing to Buy or Sell: The strategy of persistently advising to “buy” and then suddenly switching to “sell” at the last moment can be a tactic to create artificial demand and manipulate stock prices, a practice known as “pump and dump.”
  3. Loss of Investment: The total loss of funds following the advice given by the platform’s programmers is alarming. Genuine investment advisors aim to preserve and grow your capital, not jeopardize it completely.

    Complaints We Received

On December 31, 2023, we received the following complaint from a person who reported being scammed for 1,000,000 (currency was not specified):

    ZenGo Wallet Banner

Just like when I registered on centurysecurities.xyz, there was a person named Mila Jagtap on Facebook. She claimed to be an advisor and promised to help gain profits 3 to 5 times more on this platform while trading. Initially, you have to top up, and then they apply for a code from a programmer who supposedly assists in trading. I did the same thing. The programmer instructed to ‘buy, buy, buy’ and at the last moment, said ‘sell’. There wasn’t much time to switch from buy to sell options, resulting in the loss of the entire amount.

In a second instance, I invested 1 lakh from another ID. Mila arranged a quota and we traded again. This time, the 1 lakh increased to 1 crore. However, when we attempted to withdraw, the platform claimed it was abnormal trading and illegal profit. They demanded a deposit of 10% of the profit before releasing the funds. That’s when we realized this team scammed us. All the people are working together in this scam.

    Conclusion

The investigation into centurysecurities.xyz and centurysecurities.top suggests a high probability of these sites being involved in fraudulent activities. The key indicators include over-promising returns, pushing for quick buy-and-sell decisions, and a total loss of investment, aligning with common traits of investment scams. Additionally, the lack of substantial online presence, minimal backlink profiles, and the disappearance of the websites add to the suspicion.

The connection of these sites to a potentially legitimate entity, centurysecurities.com, redirects to a known financial services provider’s website, adds complexity to the situation. However, the absence of direct affiliation or acknowledgment of centurysecurities.xyz and centurysecurities.top by the legitimate entity indicates that these might be cases of brand impersonation or misuse of a legitimate name to deceive investors.

    Bottom Line

Given these findings, it’s prudent for potential investors to exercise extreme caution. It’s essential to conduct thorough due diligence, seek advice from financial experts, and rely on platforms that have a proven track record and are regulated by financial authorities. Remember, if an investment opportunity seems too good to be true, it likely is. Protecting oneself from such scams involves being informed, vigilant, and skeptical of any investment promising high returns with little to no risk.
